[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
If you take a look "on the spot" through the Map: [view] link, you'll notice that the big pyramid is partially surrounded by three little pyramids.

This is one of those, on the left you see the edge of the big pyramid.

In the workshop you'll find another crop of this picture; please let me know which version you prefer.

Tech talk

Cloned out some dusty patches here and there, they reflected the light too much and thus were distracting.

Levels, curves.

Downsized for TL in a couple of steps, and applied a simple frame - using a couple of recorded PS actions.

Exposure: f/16, 10 seconds. I can't seem to select that speed from the predefined values, so I chose the closest value...

Hello Frank,I like both images, though this one certainly
is the strongest for viewing the small pyramid as the dominant subject, the workshop adds another dimension with the colums & IMHO subtracts some of the vibrance away from the pyramid, your exposure time of 8 or 10 seconds @ f/16 results in a very clear detailed & very sharp image, the whites in the pyramid are exceptional.

i love night lights.. they are so full of immagination.. and create an atmosfere out of time, expecially in the big ancient city as Paris is!! light from down of this piramyd gives a good touch to everything.. forms are incresed.. BG is exalted.. nice capture!! well done!
ciao Marco

Hello,
Well I see you went back and got the Louvre--I love this for it's sharpness and crispness and I believe I like this posted version-----the workshop post is a little too tight for my liking---this is well done --it is such a great opportunity for photographers----Lynne

Nice. Excellent exposure and good composition. I like the contrast between the modern pyramid and the old building in the BG.

TFS,
David

Joeps Frank
Mooie kleuren!! Zeer scherpe compo met knap licht.
Tien seconden is niet altijd simpel maar het resultaat mag er wezen.
Groetjes

Hello Frank,
Beautiful composition.
Looks like little glass pyramids.
Sharp, and good ambience of night light. TFS

Hi Franck,
Very beautiful night photo.
Really neat and great details.
I like so much the superposition of the new and the old.
Great point of view.
Congratulations.
Stephane.

Hello frank, nicely composed shot, good light and exposure, very well done, thanks!

Mario

I like the cropped version better. I'm not to crazy about the edge of the other pyramid, but I don't know if another POV could have avoided it.
Next time I go to Paris I will also be bringing my new tripod along. I thought they did not allow tripods on inside or outside this museum?

Cheers,
Pedro
