The first time I went into a Cathedral with a tripod. It enabled me to take some pictures at low ISO and small aperture and I could also experiment a little with HDR. Here I had set up the tripod at the back of the cathedral looking back to the entrance. I was able to capture the light beams coming in nicely. I took 5 bracketed shots, -2, -1, 0, +1 and +2 EV. These were then combined to one image using Photomatix.

Hi,

I really like this photo. It's so interesting.
Especially I like those sun rays falling through the window, it gives to cathedral holiness:)

Hello Pedro,

Angelic lighting for a place where angels gather.Fabulous lighting, wonderful shot. Well done. Joni

Fantastic details! Unreal colors! I have a feeling it's a computer animation! Makes me want to experiment with HDR!

Hi Pedro,
This is just superb! The lights, the depth and the clarify - all caprured very well.
Cheers, Andriy

Beautiful! Lovely capture of the sunlight streaming into this magnificent cathedral.
The crop at the bottom gets a little messy, particularly the clipped chandelier, maybe even adding a dark gradient at the bottom of the shot would help ...?

I like your HDR result, very natural colours, with great clarity of details Pedro, how would the results differ if you combined all 5 images just usuing Adobe Photoshop & not
with Photomatix,I know it would be more like a sandwiched image but what would be missing?

Ron

Hello Pedro,
that is what I like of Gothic Cathedrals, plays of light from the high windows are the better chracteristic of these Churches. I only found that a bit more darkness could be useful to the effect. I'll try to explain me with a workshop.
Very useful note.

Diana

BEAUTIFUL!!

TFS Greetings Simone

Nicely done Pedro, the perspectives about as good as you could get them with that high ceiling. Good colour and detail and the rays nicely captured. An excellent HDR,
David

Prachtig Pedro !
Zeker het gewelf én de glasramen hebben iets speciaal.

Superb!
I love the rays effect here.
It reminds me of that popular animation someone did few years back...it had some cathedral, rays, and trees in there...or something like that...maybe someone can remember... ?

Good work.
They let you take photos inside?
Tom

Very impressive. Great to see the rays falling into the cathedral.
