Hello :o))

This photo was captured with my Canon Powershot … yes, I continue to use it according to circumstances :o)

The Saturday market in Dieppe has a big reputation. Many craftsmen, cheese makers, farmers meet themselves there to offer us the best of food.

Here is one of the cheeses that please my mouth ;o)

Cheese of Haute-Normandie, typically ‘brayon’ (from the Bray Country), Neufchâtel is produced from not skimmed raw milk. It is the oldest home-made cheese … middle of the 11th century.

The 200 gr heart (here on the photo) underwent a refining of about ten days.

The legend says that the girls of Neufchâtel-en-Bray offered this cheese to their lovers during the One hundred years war. Another legend gives it a less profane origin, its shape would be the one wings of an angel where from its name of cherub.

It generally fits well with walnuts bread and cider, but it adapts very well of an old port, the wealth of the cheese becoming allied perfectly to that some wine.
It obtained its Controlled Origin Label ( A.O.C) in 1969 confirmed by the decree of January 11th, 1977.

The Neufchâtel is thus one of 36 french cheeses among 400 listed benefiting from an A.O.C.

6 forms for the Neufchâtel A.O.C. : the cylindrical cap, the double cap, the square, the briquette, the heart, the big heart.

I hope to have put you water in mouth ;o) … there's nothing better than a delicious piece of bread with Neufchâtel and a good glass of wine (Pommerol for example … hummm !)

Thanks for your visit and comments.
Have a nice week !

Marylou ;)

Hi Maryline,

original shot! Love the composition and the light!

TLS,
Romeu

Bonjour Marylou,

Vous avez toujours les belles photos d'alementataires!

I love French cheese with fresh bread from the boulangerie!! Delicious. I find these heart shaped cheeses to be very nice in the photo especially in contrast with the black background. One can see that pride is taken in the cheese maker.

Thanks for sharing this delicious looking photo! I'm hungry now! Lisa :D

Your note was most interesting.

THE DETAILS GIVEN OF CHEESE TEMPTS YOU MORE FOR TASTEING IT THAN PAYING ATTENTION TO THE SHOT WHICH IS REALLY VERY VERY SHARP UNIFORMLY WITH GOOD LIGHT.
GOD BLESS

J'adore le fromage.
Excellente capture.
Bonne netteté et détails.
Et je vais en prendre 2 S.V.P.
Pierre

Bonjour Maryloo
