I have bent Helen's rules a bit here as there is more than one colour in this plateful.

The Breton crêpe is the local speciality.

Made of buckwheat flour, the filling ranges from a simple ham, egg and cheese, to this one chosen by one of my grandsons.

This is the "Barbecue" - probably the most expensive on the menu, topped off with a couple of merguez sausages.

Bon appetit!

Hello, Peter.

It's quite a few years since I visted Brittany but I remember crêpes fondly. I also bought some buckwheat flour and made some at home later. Delicious! And you can fill these crêpes with pretty much anything, savoury or sweet. I never had a pan big enough to make the huge ones like these, though.

This is a very interestingly composed shot. My eyes seem to dance from one part of the picture to another, picking up more and more detail, before finally homing in on that behemoth of a crêpe with its wonderful varied colours.

Your grandson must have a fine appetite! Are you allowed "doggy bags" in Brittany - to take away your uneaten food to consume later at home?

Excellent!

Best Wishes,

John.

Of course, Coca Cola is strictly forbidden with that traditionnal Breton meal... and the cook who served "merguez" (muslim sausages from maghreb) with "galettes" is not born in Britanny...
I feel that for information about regional receipes, it's a kind of humoristic picture.

Hello Peter - this Breton crêpe does look a bit too much for me!! The grandchildren usually like to pick the biggest meal to eat :)
Good shot for the theme
Janice

Hello Peter

An interesting POV here and good desaturation work. Thats one huge plate of food and good choice to leave the whole plate in colour even though its bending the rules a tad I think you made the right decision.

TFS and for joining in with the theme

kind regards Helen

Yum! That looks absolutely delicious! I like how you have isolated the crepe in color. Very appetizing!

Ton petit fils est un gourmand!! (not sure if that's the french word? ;) ) Lisa

Wow Peter,
that grandson of yours must be a growing lad! he as an appetite for two. I like your PP work here and it looks good with more than one colour.
I had posted an image to this theme myself but deleted it in embarrassment as nobody seemed to like it. It was of a fish and chip van man serving me ...wait for it... fish and chips. I just quickly converted to B & W and posted. And it serves me right that it received no points. But what I should have done in hindsight is keep the colour of the fish and chips.

Suculent vision!

wow this is s huge crepe.. tfs-jon

Two mistakes:
- merguez sausages
- coca cola

With our National Breton pancakes (krampouezh), we traditionnaly use to drink milk and / or cider.

Regards from Brittany.
