comme je le disais, il faut faire la démarche de rentrer dans l'athmosphere d'une photo quand a priori elle n'est pas évidente et tout public comme un couher de soleil, des feuillages d'automne, des lacs canadiens avec des montagnes, des moines birmaniens, etc ;) et sur un site où l'on passe (pour une grande majorité) quelques secondes sur l'une des photos parmi tant d'autres...
la version bizarre postée en premier est bien plus lugubre qu'un N&B !
l'idée de rogner un morceau de l'image à gauche est intéressante
l'effet vieillissant m'est par contre plutôt indifférent
enfin bref, la réaction des autres sur le vert était effectivement conservatrice, j'ai fait un effort pour ne pas l'être et maintenant je la préfère à cette version... comme quoi dans un cas comme dans l'autre tu n'auras pas satisfait tout le monde, et c'est une richesse... mais jamais de réponse définitive :D

Nice photo, I like your pov and the scene although I'm not a big fan of the scratches :) I like specially when the leaves and branches of the back tree meet the sky, it have a kind of transparent effect very good.

Jij bent ook niet iemand waar ik, in de regel,
gewoon tegen kan zeggen " goed gedaan " ... LOL
Moeilijke vent ! :-p

Moet je weten dat ik meestal eerst een foto bekijk en die terug sluit. Laat maar even bezinken.
( doe dus geen 50 foto's op één avond )
Ze blijft dus wel in het koppie zitten.

Wil ik deze foto gaan bespreken ... euuhhh ?
Is er iets aan m'n scherm, geheugen, ...
Dus toch maar terug je notes gelezen : Ah ... OEF !

Ik kies voor deze saturatie tov de oorspronkelijke foto.
Maar toch. Je zet jezelf al wat klem door je titel " danse "
en " macabre "
Het dansen kan ik er nog in zien ( heb een aantal jaartjes
dansschool gevolgd ) nl indien je naar een walz kijkt
dan buigen ze zo ook.
Het macabre, dat laat je IMO ook nu met deze techniek niet echt zien. ( dacht eerst dat het krassen op 't negatief waren )

Volgens " papa Jan " moet je hier kiezen :
of je volgt de klassieke fotografie
Z/W, sepia, doordrukken-en-tegenhouden, ...
om je dramatisch effect te krijgen
of je gaat photoshoppen - zelfde als hierboven maar
nu je " dance " er ook in krijgen door héél fijntjes
gebruik te maken van vervormingsfilters.
( anders ga je er IMO nooit " beweging " in krijgen )

Commentaar voor wat het waard is Erik !

This one looks good, too, but as far as I can remember I liked more the first version more because the trees were more visible/impressive. here they are somehow hidden/softer.

Hello Erik
I like the compo you've adopted here, it reminds me a kind of «war» work or «suspense» movie, sensation strengthened by the visible risks and the difuse eyes seen in the image. Gread b/w work and a great mood. However about preferences I agree with «jc» .

Je compo en het contrast op de bomen werken wel, Eric, en het is een goeie entry in Helen's theme naar mijn idee. Zeer originele benadering...
De "old photo" filters, tja, ben ik niet echt wild van. Ik denk dat de overlay te zacht was, niet genoeg dekking. Ik bedoel, met zo'n craquelures verwacht ik diepe groeven in het fotopapier, niet zo van die noch-vis-noch-vlees lijntjes.

I love effect you've made here...effect of loneliness,lost and hopelessness ...I love mood in your photography,and it deserve two points from me,IMHO :)))

Lot of work you made to get a good and sure colourful piture desaturated into BW.
The 'scrathes', (whatever it is) spoils it even more.
Ik vertaal 'Luguber' in gewoon 'niet geslaagd'.!

I also think that you have achieved your goal, as it does give the impression of a gloomy surreal day. The scratches does give a vintage look, would have liked to see less and not at such a regular interval on the upper right corner. Very good mood photo. Rodney.

Hmmm...I find the scratches confusing, resembling a spider web but not quite working or logical. The mood is somber, yet not sure what it is trying to say. I like the composition and textures, and the shapes of the trees could create a sense of "spell" if they came across more dynamically. Overall, this has strong potential to do what you discuss in your note, but perhaps the scratches became too much of a distraction. Oddly enough, this is one example of when a note reduced my favorable impression of an image. Despite all these reactions, I do like it for other reasons:)

Very good composition! And I like how do you use the light here for creating of the mood. Postprocessing is also very interesting!
