Good Morning Everyone,

A slight detour from my chateaux theme to share with you some of the countryside of the Loire region.

This is an lush, arable field, close to the Medieval town of Chinon.

I was struck by the strong contrast between the farms here and those in N.W. England, where I live. Because there are few animals on these farms, the fields are large, and without walls or fences. Where I live, the fields are all bounded by drystone walls, as most of them are concerned with the husbandry of animals.

Many thanks for your interest.
Please feel free to feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Hello Bev,

Awesome greens in this photo and I like the strong lines leading me into the distance. Good clarity and balance. I would like to spend more time in France in the future. Beautiful country!

Regards and TFS,
Martyn

Hi Beverley & Hello, downstairs neighbour!

The diagonal road with a dip adds nice dynamism & lead in lines. Superb colour, sharpness & framing. Have a great weekend!

hi bev.
i wish i were on that road.

a very nicely composed image. it oozes 'summer'. good lead in from the right hand corner and the horizon is level as well.

i may have been tempted to clone out the poles in the bg but they are not so distracting as to damage the image.

nicely done.
Brian

Hi Bev,
What a great place!! Such natural colours in this scene you've captured. I like the POV here, I hope you didn't stand on any of the crops to take this! Haha. Excellent panoramic crop, simple but effective border too.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Beverley,
This is a beautiful composition of this landscape with an excellent POV and an ample DOF.
I love the diagonal road crossing the perspective with a nice curve leading us to the beautiful tree and the farm.
Nice soft lighting adorned with pastel colors.
A very clean presentation in an elegant frame.
Great job.

Francis Xavier

Hello Beverley!
Your point of view is very good and the colours lovely!
Simply and beautiful landscape!
Best regards!

Bonjour Beverley
I live near the Loire and know rather well these landscape. The lack of drystone walls is due to what we call "remembrement" as to bigger plots of lands, so that even the Beauce looks now like american fields. But, fortunately, there are lots of french countries where little plots and drystone walls yet exist ( Brittany, Normandy, Auvergne,Burgundy etc...)Even in the Region Centre (except for Beauce and northern Brie)there are many places where they remain.
However, your shot with good cropping and nice colours fits very well to show this type of landscapes here
Warm regards

Hi BEV,
The "civilization, correction et finesse" from France is anywhere. I prefer anything more sauvage :o).
Nice shot and presentation.
Malgré tout j'aime la France :o)...
Have a good WE,
Raimundo

Unfortunately we don't have your drystone walls :( but we do have barbed wire surrounding the farmland. This is very pretty though, and very lush. (my community is a disaster zone this year...so dry!) Very nice composition and detail. TFS

Beautiful Bev!! Your composition couldn't be better with that road as a lead-in bottom right. Perfect placement of trees and building. The colors are lush and vibrant. Just a beauty!!
Hope you're having a nice weekend.

Hello Bev,
I can sense this was meticulously framed. The diagonal road, the two lonely trees, and the homes look great against the baby blue sky and the green fields with well defined crop furrows. Best regards...

Danilo

I love it. Great depth and clarity. Wonderful saturation.

Hi Beverley,
A gorgeous rural landscape with all the feel of farm and country quiet. I really like the strong impact of the diagonal lines created by the roadway leading to the farm. Well done and TFS. Gerald

Hello Bev,
Nice picture.
Very good sharpnesse amd frame also.

Hello Beverley, from your recent shots, you obviously had a wonderful holiday and you were blessed with wonderful weather.
I like the composition and the lines of the road and the rows of crops.
The trees and the farm are well placed in the picture, and because of the space on the right hand side,we get a feel of the large fields so typical of this region.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Beverly,
Well observed and captured. The road is a perfect lead in, when my eyes are "driving" over this road I se the whole scene in quitness. Nice use of the rule of thirds, great how the lush greens are showed. Regarding the poles in the distance, I would have removed with the clone tool, but they are there and you showed it. Fine posting Bev!

hello Bev,
an excellent diagonal line creates a good leading line too. You have shown the lushness very well. That greeness together with blue sky make an impactful picture.I like the corduroy texture provided by the lines of the crop.

Bev
