Hello Everyone,

I hope you have all had a good weekend.
Following on from my last photograph of Chateau Saumur, this is the promised shot from the walls of the chateau.

In my w/s, I will show a wider view.

You can see how important the chateau must have been at this strategic crossing point of the River Loire.
The chateau is built on a high point, with magnificent views up, and down, the river.

My husband and I walked down from the chateau, through the narrow streets, framed by these interesting old buildings for a closer look at the bridge with its many stone arches.

There were small benches on the riverside where we had a picnic and enjoyed 'people watching' as well as watching the ducks and the seagulls in their water frolics.

For more history of the area, please see my last post.

Many thanks for your interest.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Hello Bev

A always an excellent work very instructive note too.
I like the pov here like from a plane.
Nice presentation with a perfect light.
Very beautiful bridge.
You have to go to Beaugency to see an extraordinary bridge too.
Lovely photo.
Kind regards

Hi Beverley,
A nice panorama of this wonderful place by the River Loire.
Good colors and lighting and a superb perspective of the surroundings - nice roof tops and a wonderful bridge crossing.
Great details and sharpness.
A nice postcard well presented in a neat white frame.
Best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hi Beverley,

Wonderful view of the historic bridge! I like the POV in this picture and the contrast between the color of the bridge and the river water is just amazing. The sunlight falling right on the bridge makes it glow, thereby making your picture very eye-catching. The houses look so nice and bring charm to the picture. The sky looks nice and fits well in the picture. Great composition!

thanks and regards,
Paras Bhalla

PS: Thank you for your kind comments on my picture.

Hello Bev,
The red chemneys, first, catch the eye. Than, this marvelous bridge help us to cross over the "metalic" river and than the eyes get lost in the dark green trees. A very nice walk. Thanks for it !
