This interesting looking machine I believe is called a recumbent tandem.
I had a bit of a Google, and came up with this, which looks very similar.
Yours for only £3,300! Trailer extra.
Taken as JPEG: PP in FastStone and PhotoShop 7.
I have put another picture of this interesting machine in a WS. |

Hello, Peter.
What a strange looking contraption. I've seen pictures of single-seater bicycles in which the rider sits in a reclining position like the girl in this picture (I seem to remember Prince Charles on one), but I've never seen a tandem like this before. I can't really believe that these vehicles are any easier to propel than a conventional bicycle or tandem: I can imagine that one's lung capacity isn't as good in the recumbent position as it is when the body is positioned more or less vertically. After all, you don't see Chris Hoy or riders in the Tour de France riding things like this!
Nonetheless, a very nice clear and sharp picture with good colours and contrasts. They are riding along a strong diagonal (See, I'm learning about composition now!) but I like the lead-in to the tandem brought about by the short piece of fencing in the nearest foreground. It's nice too that the girl is looking into the camera and smiling. I think that if you ride about on a contraption like this then you must expect to attract attention from onlookers and photographers, if not thieves if the thing is as expensive as you say.
Interestingly, this reminds me of something I learned in Latin class at school almost 50 years ago(my mind is full of useless information). The Latin word "tandem" is an adverb meaning "eventually" or "at length" and so somebody rather whimsically used the word "tandem" to name a long two-seater bicycle.
Best Wishes,
John.

Hello Peter,
this is a good shot. I like that they are on a diagonal with the little fence almost a frame for them.Good connection with the lady recumbent as she smiles at you doing your paparazzi thing.
