Hello Everyone,

I'm a little late posting, today. Sadly, other things sometimes get in the way!

This is not Holland!
It is one of France's windmills and was seen on a trip to Mont St. Michel. As you can see, the weather was not what I wanted for photographing that lovely beauty spot but the ominous sky seemed to add an interesting mood and b/g to the blades of the windmill. So, in this instance, the windmill outshone Mont St Michel!

Shot in raw.
pp in PSE6 - slight rotation & crop, selected & darkened the sky, sharpened, added border & signed

Hi Beverley

I like the minimalist colour here. Good sharpness & graphism of the windmill against the moody, grey skies. Tfs!

Hi Beverley,

Sometimes even bad weather can make for a good shot. The low POV nicely captures the blades against the ominous skies, and they're what will bear the brunt of the winds. Nicely composed.

Best regards,
Werner

Hi Bev
fascinating image for its tones and outstanding capture of "ominous mood".
perfect pov and well composed.
the greyish frame works nicely with the poor weather.

Ciao Bev, beautiful composition with lovely windmill, superb grey sky, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Beverly,

Congratulations on this beautiful capture. I'm trying to create an art form of photography. This windmill caught my eye. I have a vision of what I want to try next, but haven't taken the photo yet. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration.

Well done!

Dennis

Bonjour Beverly
Ce ciel gris donne beaucoup de tristesse à cette image bien cadrée,les ailes du moulin sont orientées dans la bonne direction et le cadrage est bien vu dans ce format.
Bonne journée
Amicalement

Ominous looking indeed Bev. Love the overall grey tones, and the grey mood in this shot. The frame choice is perfect too IMO.
Great shot

Hi Bev,
Nice peaceful mood in your capture with the dominant Mill subtly lighted disregarding the dull sky which, in fact is giving impact to the composition!
Very natural colors and details are impeccable!
A very neat presentation.

Francis Xavier

Hello Bev,
What a coincidence....the mill of Beauvoir!
I captured this mill on September 13, 2009.
I was there when I visited Mont St. Michel and more in Normandy.
This is an amazing capture, Bev, with a very good POV.
You have this well composed and well presented!

See this and this

TFS and greetings from Netherlands,
Adri

Hi Bev:)
Very beautiful windmill vith good POV and perspective.TFS.
Best wishes,

Hello Bev,
The satiny grey clouds provide a good background, so smooth. The windmill is sharp, impressive metering.

Danilo

hi Beverley,
i loved your landscapes. this one has a lovely mood. the lone standing windmill against the cloudy sky..fabulous capture.

now you talked about the windmill being from france and not holland..i remember seeing some of Monet's paintings of windmills..i guess those were from holland. weren't they?

take care :)

regards,
Mayur

Hi Bev,
So when do they finish this mill? :-) Joking my dear, a fine sharp impression of this "wingless" mill in the French landscape. The dramatic grey clouds makes this look a nasty looking place but due to that a perfect capture!
