An oldie in Black and White for a change.
Time for a souvenir. Enjoying a funny moment together, deck crew members of the MV Caron P.E. are here gathered on deck for a photo session.
Conditions on board this ship built in 1958 ( 20 years old then, like me as a matter of fact) where difficult. Despite that, the crew of 30 ( with 15 different nationalities )worked hard and managed to enjoy working together.
On this photo , 2 guys from Canada, 1 from Sri Lanka , 2 from Burma , 1 from Vietnam , 1 from Poland , 2 from Spain. I am among them....
Easy to find I guess....
Working at sea for ten years, was a real pleasure and fantastic experience. I loved it.
Since 1986 , I have the opportunity to work with ship`s crews from all over the world, working as a marine agent. I still love the contact, the opportunities to work with people from all nationalities. The world is so small, and the differences are so small between all of us...
This photo was originally in color. As it was a foggy day, the background was not very interesting, so I desaturated it, adjusted levels and resized prior posting.
Hope you will like it.

Very nice photo, Robert! The composition is perfect, your positioning of the crew very effective, and the decision to render it in black & white a good one. The comaraderie and friendship in the photo is quite evident. You've got a great eye for these ships you've been posting - I've enjoyed looking at them. Your love of the sea is evident in your work. BTW, I just finished a book titled _The Outlaw Sea_...quite interesting.
I love this
makes me happy :)

This is a great picture !
Everyone is posing with the required discipline, holing in his place, but there is still the right amount of life in their behaviour to make it a living photo. Great story, great picture which makes me feel like joining the crew ! I like the fact that the group is not centered, offering the opportunity of an inviting glance to the open sea.
