Another photo from my last visit to Germany.

Place Name: Brandenburg Gate (German: Brandenburger Tor).

Some Information about the place:-
It is one of the main symbols of Berlin and Germany. It is located west of the city center at the intersection of Unter den Linden and Ebertstraße, immediately west of the Pariser Platz. It is the only remaining gate of a series through which one formerly entered Berlin. One block to the north stands the Reichstag. The gate is the monumental entry to Unter den Linden, the renowned boulevard of linden trees which formerly led directly to the city palace of the Prussian monarchs. It was commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a sign of peace and built by Karl Gotthard Langhans from 1788 to 1791. The Brandenburg Gate was restored from 2000 to 2002 by the Stiftung Denkmalschutz Berlin (Berlin Monument Conservation Foundation).
The Gate was designed by Karl Gotthard Langhans, the Court Superintendent of Buildings, and the main architectural design of this landmark hasn't changed since it was first constructed in 1791. Ironically the gate was incorporated into the Berlin wall during the years of Communist government. The Brandenburg gate is probably the most well-known landmark in Berlin, it now stands as a symbol of the reunification of the two sides of this great city. Today, it is also considered one of Europe's most famous landmarks.

Some PP work:-
added contrast, resharpened it and then resized for TL.

Hi Sanjib!

regards,
Alper

Hello Sanjib, wonderful night photograph of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. I see it is from the former "east" side of the old Berlin? I invite you to see my 1966 shot of the Brandenburg Gate which of course was from the west side. (Check my gallery). We weren't allowed in East Berlin without special military clearance. I'm saving your shot next to mine in my archives. Great work!
