[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a picture of Cecilienhof in Potsdam. This is the building where the Potsdam Conference took place on the 18th of July 1945 between Stalin (Russia), Truman (USA) and Churchill (UK) near the end of the Second World War.

They decided who was going to rule which part of Germany after the war. It so happened that Potsdam was part of the East German block, ruled by the USSR.

A fact quite apparent in the picture.

Now Germany is one again, and part of the capitalist way of life, as the guests in the fancy restaurant are well aware, but the past clings to the surroundings and does not easily let go - also not in the hearts of people.....

Hi Dirk,
Great story behind this beautiful building !!
Nice colors and good POV.
greetings,
Joop!

A beautiful moment in september. You have travelled quite a bit. Love this picture and it's better if you know the story behind it.
Thanks for sharing both.
