This shot was taken during a walk through Wismar.
Wismar is a small port and Hanseatic League town in northern Germany on the Baltic Sea, in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, about 45 km due east of Lübeck, and 30 km due north of Schwerin. Its natural harbour, located in the Bay of Wismar is well-protected by a promontory.
Representative of Hanseatic League city brick construction as well as the German brick churches, the city has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 2002.(excerpt taken from wikipedia)
The stonewall with the door in it is part of the Church of the Holy Ghost (Heiligengeistkirche). To that church once belonged a hospital for people suffering from deadly diseases. Through this door you get a glimpse at the inner courtyard.
I liked the thought of looking through that door and finding the remains of that history. To put emphasize on that I desaturated the colours of the courtyard.
Hope you like it, Heike

The image is descent, PP work is well done, but what I appreciate more are your details.
You did, and always do, write a very nice note and quoted wikipedia and cited your source.
Your working well on being a valuable member on TL, you dont see that much around here. Keep up the good work.
hi heike,

i really like it. the desaturation was an inspired decision.
i echo zeb's statement..
