[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The visit to Heidelberg turned out to have taken a zoological turn: after seeing the lions, wen we got to the foot of the Neckar bridge, we met the famous bridge monkey.
There seems to have been a bridge-monkey in Heidelberg back in the 15'th century but the present one dates from 1979 and is the work of the artist Gernot Rumpf.
The monkey holds up a mirror for the benefit of the passerby (amazed tourist or maybe a student dizzy after a night of merry drinking). Near the statue there is an inscription which reads:
"As you look at me, world (or traveler), don't laugh too quickly at me - because if you were to look at humanity or even into a mirror, you might just see something equally funny."
The head of the monkey is hollow (another allusion perhaps?) and some tourists stick their head in it as in a mask.
Unfortunately I did not know this at the time I took the picture, so there is a reason to pay another visit!

Hello Tibi. Good framing of this bridge-monkey. The sky is a bit OE but the subject is well exposed with sharp details. Well done. Jusni

dear Tibi,
very interesting monkey and inscription.
this statue looks having modern taste of art.
in my feeling, the human and the monkey are not so different each other. in Japan people think that the monkey merely has three more hairs than the human...
anyway excellent capturing with nice composition, colors and back,
thank you,
Akihisa

Ciao Tibi, great composition with strange sculpture, very well done, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

Hello Tibi,
Great pov with the curve line envolving the statue behind. The sculture of the monkey is fantastic (I love the eyes concepted has holes and shadows), but your pov improved it a lot including the scenario behing, like the mountains, the statue, the sky, and the constructions behind, capturing the all place atmosphere. Congrats, mb
