[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The stonecutter work with the cathedral could only by several masters who worked in friendship with each other (on the same profit). Process acts in the archive of the town of Prague report about big difficulties. The final account occurred through a construction-sensible committee with Giovanni Pietro della Torre, the son and successor in the office as a royal court stonecutter master.
The interior equipment occurred through Giovanni Battista Carlone and the frescoes were painted by Carpoforo Tencalla. The cathedral has been built on the highest elevation of the Old Town between the rivers Inn and the Danube, 13 ms over the Danube and 303 ms over the sea. The Passauer cathedral is one of the biggest cathedrals with the biggest baroque church interior to the north of the Alps. Four different architectural styles can be proved in the today's location of the dreischiffigen cathedral:
