[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Die Stiftspfarrkirche St. Philipp und Jakob ist eine spätgotische Hallenkirche im oberbayerischen Wallfahrtsort Altötting.
Der heutige Bau ist der vierte an dieser Stelle. Die neue Kirche wurde 1245 an der Stelle einer älteren Klosterkirche geweiht. Zehn Jahre nach Beginn der Wallfahrt 1489 erwies sich wegen des großen Pilgerstromes ein Neubau als notwendig.

Am 1. August 1499 wurde der Grundstein zur jetzigen Kirche gelegt. In ihrer heutigen Gestalt wurde sie zwischen 1499 und 1511 unter Stiftspropst Johannes Mayr am südlichen Rand des Kapellplatzes in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Gnadenkapelle errichtet. Die beiden Türme, die Vorhalle, die Westempore und die Südmauer blieben vom Vorgängerbau aus dem 13. Jahrhundert erhalten. Baumeister waren der aus Burghausen stammende Hans Perger und Ulrich Häntler. Sie ist die letzte gotische Hallenkirche Süddeutschlands. Das Stift bestand bis 1803 und wurde 1929 durch ein neues in anderer Form ersetzt.
Die Kirche ist 52 Meter lang, 18 Meter breit und im Mittelschiff 13 Meter hoch. Die schlanken Türme haben eine Höhe von 48 Meter.

mangigique église, très bien mise en évidence, ce deux clocher qui filent vers ce ciel, c eoti rouge, ce rendu sur les pierre, avec les epronnage et la viviacité, grandiose.

Good sharpness, lighting contrast, & reasonable color, although there seems to be a slight yellow green color cast, in the sky at left. Excellent framing on the impressive cathedral, & the line of people adds scale. Tfs!
