A different kind of self-portrait

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On a very hot summer's day me and my flatmate have been to Hannover in Lower Saxony (I think one could still say it is northern Germany).
There we visited the "Herrenhäuser Gärten", a big garden that once belonged to a castle. Now it is simply a wonderful park with fountains and lots and lots of flowers.
Near the entrance to this area there is a small building that houses a very special exhibition of a very special artist - Niki de Saint Phalle (1930-2002). This building is called "Grotte" or Grotto as I read it on wikipedia. There Niki de Saint Phalle created three rooms, one held in blue, one in yellow and red tones and the third covered with mirrors. She designed the whole rooms, including the floor and the ceiling!
Everywhere on the wall and in niches are sculptures and other elements like windows, all designed by the artist.
When being there I couldn't stop taking photos. But it was quite difficult because of a guard who was in one of the rooms and the other visitors.
In a small passage way I took this shot of myself. It is obvious that I was standing in front of a wall covered with mirrors, isn't it? ;-)
It was difficult to get a sharp image as the walls aren't plain as you can see by the reflections.
PP was more simple: cropping to get rid of a part of the room that doesn't belong to this wall, adjustment of brightness and contrast (but only slightly), adding borders. I'm a bit sorry for the green part of a sculpture in the bottom right corner, but if I had cropped that out my reflection would have been to centred - I think.
Thanks for looking. Have a good day. Regards, Britta |

Nice experiment - I like to see people trying new things!!!! Depending on your software you could try selective sharpening..
Schone abend.
