[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo on the same party as his other portrait I uploaded earlier.
Actually I only played around with my new little polaroid and fiddled through the menu when finding the sepia settings and tried my luck.

hi heike.

i hope you don't mind but i have done a ws on this image.

the sepia setting on your camera is a gimmick. it does not give you the colour control that is needed.
you have also got a shadow at the left side of your subjects head which appears to broaden his face.

sorry to be negative but we are hear to learn.

if you do not have any photo imaging software then i would suggest you download a free version of photofiltre to help you get the colours you want.
Brian

Yeah, thats good advice Bryan has given.

Actually, ive read many times that if your camera dosent have a RAW feature (most p&s cameras do not) then ALWAYS shoot in color.

Thats because in color, you still have all your RGB information in tact, whereas sepia or B&W only collects the monochrome data. (i believe thats correct)

For the future, use color in your snaps and crank the quality up as high as it will go and you can always change it later.

And btw, if you want some descent software, try out Gimp 2.0. Its no Photoshop, but its not bad. And its free! It gives you a whole slew of post-processing options without breaking your wallet. I highly suggest it to those who dont have photoshop.
