It is wintertime, and my bird friends are back again
for the winter in my next door Bluecher Park,
so it was time to spend the sunday afternoon with my
favorite combination (40D + 100-400) "hunting"
the Black-Headed Gulls (and some Mallards too).


B&W-toning and pp in photoshop, NeatImage for a little
noise reduction.

habt Ihr tatsächlich Möwen mitten in Köln!? Irgendwie dachte ich immer, die würde man nur am Meer finden - bin eben aus Bayern - und da gibts überhaupt keine!!!

i'm green with envy with the way you captured this gulls in flight. looks like they freeze for you. very sharp! like the sepia tone tone, kind of makes it unique. the DOF - awesome! really makes them fly high.

Hello Thorsten,
What a good shot capturing all the seagulls so sharply against the OOF busy background. There is a little OE on some of the birds, but I am impressed with how you managed to get such good shots of all those birds in flight.
