Sambucus nigra
Elderberry blossom, buds still closed. Late afternoon light coming from the side and below, exposing the tree-like structure of each blossom complex.
During medieval ages the tree was considered to be holy, people lifting the hat in greeting when passed by, farmers excusing to the tree with a prayer when they had to cut the branches.
