Your are right Liliana, it is indeed a red bud. A very beautiful one at that. I have looked at the WS and honestly would not be able to choose the better of the two. I like the black framing on this one, better, but that has nothing to do with the image. I love the Dof used and the positioning of the lovley hairy plant. Simple and beautiful.

Hello Lili,

Your macro is sharply focussed and the details of the hairy stem stand out very well but I am not sure what it is! It looks to be perhaps some kind of pink daisy.
Good dof to isolate the b/g.

Hello Liliana,
a very sharp shot of the bud. The minute details of the flower is veery well noticed. The sprouting stalk gives a good impact to the photo. The blurry background pushed the flower out of the frame, making it so brilliant.

Nice colours and sharpness, nice work on the frame, but what I like best about this shot is the background - it has the effect of watercolour brushstrokes.

I would never have placed the bud so centrally, but I guess it's the diversity of compositional styles that makes photography interesting!
