[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
"Call me Ishmael. Some years ago -- never mind how long precisely -- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world."
(Herman Melville - Moby Dick)

Ships on Docks are telling storys of its journeys against great odds and the distress of its crews. But they also tell from the pleasure of overmastering all this and the save home coming.
You just have to sit and hear the ship telling his story.....

The shot shows the "Gorch Fock" on the dock of the Lindenau Dockyard. It is the last training sailship of the german navy. The officer candidates are learning seamanship on it.

pp: turned to b/w, put some yellow in it to get this slight sepia effect.

What an excellent photo this is Jan. The colours are so suited to this scene, makes you feel you are back in the 1800's when these boats were in use. And what a life they had on board - not for me! The crane sort of gives the show away, not quite the 19th Century. But I really like this photo - well shown, and thank you.

Recognized the opening words of a great classic ( I am a teacher of Literature :) )...I like this photo a lot. I like sepia effect, I think you could even apply some more on this one. (hue 40, saturation 35). I love the fact that the prow stands out against a lighter background. Congratulations!

The sepia effect is really effective Jan, and the POV works well. A nice shot.

Excellent game of shadow. The sail boat give a very complex tructure. It's well done! it's sharp! I like it!
