This is a shot from the past. But its not the object, that is the cause for that. I made this shot with an old dusty Zeiss Ikon Box Tengor Camera from 1928. It was bought by my grandfathers father. After lots of moving years it finaly landed in my hands. I recognised the body was ok, the mechanic was still working and the lens was something you can call nearly clear :-)
I bought some 120 roll films (Ilford FP4) and went off - mission: try the camera.
As you can see, it still works fine. Ok, the lense ist not as sharp as expensive new ones, but you can realise the train on the shot.
Thats all, i can await!
I´m happy with this one but i think it will spend most of its time in my livingroom in a vitrine. |

Hi Jan
Well I think the image is excellent - and it's great to see the world through the eyes of 1928!
Quite a shallow depth of field, was the aperture adjustable or is it fixed in old cameras?
Fascinating shot, thanks for sharing!

this photo definately has an old feel to it and now i know why...the beauty of this shot is undeniable...i really like the widescreen style frame you have added...and great choice of subject...peace***
Hello Jan!
Great subject for your study with your camera!. Indeed the result is surprising. Looks like we are watching a WWII movie . Excellent mood , framing and composition. The sharpness is so so, but it does add to the mood.
Cheers!
