[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This house, a Weinstube, is said to be the smallest house in the cosy city of Bernkastel-Kues.

Its base is verry narrow indeed, just a bit more than 1 metre. I think it looks just like a doll house.

Too bad the weather was not so good that day. Being a busy town, we were lucky that there were not too many people about. I think in this shot they are not disturbing, since they give a good impression of the size of the house.

Tech talk

Using MS Digital Image Pro's Distortion filter, I corrected a slight vertical distortion and cropped the result. Then I enlarged the canvas space to add the frame, and added a shadow.

Resized for TL in two steps, sharpened afterwards.

To compensate for the bad weather, I adjusted the saturation by 40 %.

Finally : added the text on the pillar.

Though it appears to be tilted by the different lines in it, the image is levelled out, believe me. (Look at the pillar and the balcony, if you don't ;P)

Really cute - middle house is like a boat on the sea!!! I like the narrow frame, just like the narrow streets.

Excellent picture... Love the way how you compose and thought into this picture.. well done. I love the house... it is exactly like a doll house.

I think the person in the foreground in red and the red writing you add in a bit distracting... my eyes keep going back to the red because it is such a dominant colour.

Anyway, well done and great effort to correct the distortion.

It looks very straight Dingo. Good job on the distortion. Very quaint place to visit. The colours have been saturated well. Well done.

Very interesting house, your exposure and angle is good and there is plenty of detail in the small house and the surrounding houses. I'ts a shame about the people in the shot but that is something that we can't always control, well done.

Weer mijn plaatje ?

nice buildings, good colours, compo.nice natural framing to.
good shot!

Very well done.

Frank!
Very beautiful shot.
Thanks for showing us European timberframe architecture. Many timber frame buildings have lath and plaster infillings.Interesting that some of the largest and most imaginative buildings of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance had timber frames and many of them have lasted every bit as well as others in stone or brick.
Thanks again for sharing

Well seen and captured, lovely houses specially the one you call doll house. The colors are natural, so your PP work was good. Well done!

A pretty place, I don't mind to live in a house like this, so cute. Good composition, I like the colours very much and the composition, there is a lot to see in this shot.. Thank you for sharing it with us. :)

Regards,
Sweety

Oh, so cute, I remember what I´ve seen in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium, constructions this way, beautiful, so different as I used to see in my country.

Nice shot of them. Well done.
Pamela

What a funny little house. I love the timbered houses in Germany, they are very charming. My four year old saw this photo and asked if she could go in that tiny little house. She was amazed that people actually live there!

Thanks for sharing, Frank!
