[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Called seasonal affective disorder (SAD), seasonal depression and mood variation is known to be related to how much sunlight you receive. Now some researchers are concluding that greater exposure to summer sun may help reduce mood problems during the winter months that follow.

Now get out into that rest of sunshine !!!

Done in PS CS: Selected all the yellows, kept them and desaturated the rest of the picture with blurring lightly.

good choice of color in this and i like the point of view being from behind...it goes well with the note.

Interesting idea to desaturate everything except the yellow on sunflowers. I'm thinking only about this blurr on foreground...
P.

I completely agree as I was born and lived for years in a very sunny southern island. In Paris were I live, I miss the sunlight very much. And it has a very strong influence on my mood.
Very nice composition with this bright yellow I like very much.
Thanks
Sylvie

You have conveyed the message of SAD very well. The bright yellow leaves, and the dark grey blurred other parts. Good thinking, and nice job in the post processing.
If you suffer from SAD, it is recommended to take 400 International Units of Vitamin D daily.

Well done Jan - i like everything in this photo, starting with the view, not usual and so great here. I'm a totally SAD person.

Very creative - an unusaul take on the sunflower.

Well seen and interesting PP technique - thanks for sharing,

David

very nice! an other view to autumn!
good pp, the flowers seem to glow.
the grey works well with the yellow.
congrats!

points tomorow..

excellent composition and post processing Jan. congratulations

Sunflowers turning their backs upon you... how symbolic! I went past the thumbnail this pic a few times with the thought "just another sunflower picture"... and suddenly I saw they were turned backwards! I clicked and I am happy I did it! Great shot, good note, and TFS!

Composition très originale avec ces tournesols qui nous tournent le dos. Traitement de l'image très intéressant avec sa partie N/B et flou. Bien fait.
Bye, Jacques

Very arty! Interesting the way you've not only desaturated the non-yellow parts of the picture (a fairly overdone technique), you've blurred them too, which has created tyhis strange and wondreful effect!

Very nice digital alteration...

Like you, I'm missing the summer very much as well.

This is a great way to showcase that in a image, the composition and the selective desaturation is very pleasing.

Nicely done.

Nice colors and good POV. PP is well-conceived.

I still remeber my promise Jan. Thanks.

Very creative way to convey this world wide problem. I never would have thought about doing anything like this! And also soooo appropriate to use a "sunflower" as the heads of the sunflowers move towards the sun.

Great photo!

Very nice composition, I like the mix between the color and the b&w.
Best regards
Guy
