[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I can't believe I lived in Germany for 10 months before I had my first "lederhosen sighting"! When Americans think of Germany, one of the first things they think of is lederhosen, but actually the people here don't wear lederhosen anymore.

I was actually visiting a castle (Burg Hohenzollern near Hechingen) when I saw this cute little boy. My friends and I had just ridden the bus up the mountain to the castle, and while everyone else was getting off the bus, I noticed this kid right outside the bus eating his lunch. So I stayed behind for a few seconds and snapped this shot through the bus window.

Just for fun, I ran the "Old Photo: Color" filter from Nix Color Efex Pro, to make the picture look old-fashioned... just like the old-fashioned lederhosen. I posted the original-color version in the workshop, so you can compare and see what effect the "Old Photo" filter had.

Your decision to use the "old photo" filter was excellent. It gives this shot a grand flavour.
As to the lederhosen: in the 50's and 60's my "little" brothers wore them here in Canada in the summer (much to their chagrin, I'm sure). However, they outlasted all three boys and saved my parents a great deal of money in clothing :)

If i understand the filter... It look like a very soft blur and a little play on tones...
I like to manipulate photo by using the classical tools. I enjoy filters and explore by my own too... Drawing on photo is a funny game. But it needs patience :)
I enjoy the scene you capt! Hes looking hungry a lot :)

Cute little guy. (My son, now 40, had some lederhosen when he was little, a gift from germany. BUT I do not ever remember him wearing them).

Welcome to TL, Erin, with a nice daily life shot. I like your composition and your tight crop around the little boy eating his sandwich. Interesting use of this filter which does give an old feel to this picture...seems to go with the lederhosen. Well done!

I remeber my uncle wearing this kind of trousers on old b/w pictures from the 1950s. He always hated them... ; ).
