On the walk we made on 26th december a lot of trees and branches were white because of the frost. There were also a lot of rose hips around, like this one here.

Here are some facts about the rose hip from the internet:

The rose hip, also called the rose haw, is the pomaceous fruit of the rose plant. It is typically red to orange but may be dark purple to black in some species.

Rose hips of some species, especially Rosa canina (Dog Rose), have been used as a source of Vitamin C. Rose hips are commonly used as a herbal tea, often blended with hibiscus and as an oil. They can also be used to make jam, jelly and marmalade. Rose hip soup is especially popular in Sweden. Rhodomel, a type of mead, is made with rose hips.

Rose hips are used for the creation of herbal tea, jam, jelly, syrup, beverages, pies, bread and marmalade, amongst others.

Rose hips were used in many food preparations by indigenous people of the Americas.

Hola Nel preciosa compo, buen detalle y genial, encuadre... saludos

Whatever may be the use for a rose hip, you've made the best use of it Nelly. This frosty image is coulourful even though there isnt much color in it. Love the way tthe frost sticks to the fried up twigs creating a frozen portrait. Nice pov and dof. Great composition.

Merhaba Nel.
Very beautiful visual, well seen.
Thanks for sharing.

Yasin.

Hallo Nel.
Mooie opname en mooie contrasterende kleuren. Ik kan me vinden in het verhaal van Ruud. Maar dat komt om dat ik van details houd, dus erg dicht bij.
Groet Frans

Hi Nel,
It's a beautiful shot and good idea. The red hip looks good in the center.

Well done

I really like this one! This rose hip seems so alone in this frosty surrounding. Really stands out.
