[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Zebra Finch, Taeniopygia guttata is the most common and familiar estrildid finch of Central Australia and ranges over most of the continent, avoiding only the cool moist south and the tropical far north. It aslo can be found in Indonesia (native), Puerto Rico (introduced), Portugal (introduced) & USA (introduced). Zebra Finches inhabit open steppes with scattered bushes and trees, but have adapted to human disturbances, taking advantage of human-made watering holes and large patches of deforested land.

Hi Biswarup,
Beautiful little bird and a nice pose captured. The sunspot is blown but not that distracting...otherwise, good detail captured on the little guy. You're so lucky to have these little beauties in your country. I was just looking at these in the Pet Store a few days ago...and if memory serves me correctly they was asking over $100 Canadian. I admired them for sometime as they are so beautiful. Good shooting Biswarup!

Lyndon
