[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Short after the extraordinary flooding in the middle of summer 2007 the freightships were allowed to continue their way down the river towards Duisburg and Rotterdam. Normally I avoid the use of a polarizing filter in ealry morning of late afternnon lkight but here the effect on reflecting water and dark cloudy sky was supported by the filter very well.

Excellent shot. I like the cdark sky colours making the photo a bit drammatic and scary. Excellent balance between the sky which I consider absolutely primary object here, and the rest. UL branch breaks otherwise possible monotony. Contrast of the sky with white buildings adds to the shot. tfs
