Hi Christian,

Nice portrait with an exceptional and experimental blurred view, wich IMHO goes quite well with the title. Framing is good as well.

I very much like the tonality and low contrast; how all the grey is muted and the brightest highlight is only mildly above middle grey, and the edges slip quietly into black.

However, I don't like the pixelation effect. Perhaps distortion that doesn't look so "computerized" might work better... the look makes it something akin to an oil painting, so have you tried Photoshop's various brush filters for a similar effect with this?

I also prefer very simple frames, and this one is a bit much for my tastes. Especially the title in the bottom bothers me.

A good experiment, and very close to a very good shot, but I recommend playing with other filter options.

Cheers,

Andrew, "Boots".

You did a fantastic job, here. I just think the pic lacks more space on the left, so that the face is not so close to the left edge. Also, the pixellization seems a bit too much.

But wonderfull, anyway, especially because of the girls expression.

It's very challenging to me - you now how conservative I am with portraits, I hardly even dare to try b&w, usually!

Overall I like the play of light on your subject's face, I like the pose, I like the balance within the frame - again, it's not what we would usually expect, but it works.

I find the granulated PP is a little overpowering and I find the levels just too dark; but then the way she emerges from the blackness does work.

Thanks for sharing this!

Buna Chris
Interesanta prelucrarea. Tonurile de gri sunt frumoase, dar parca ar o idee mai mult contrast ar fi fost interesanta.
In fine chestie de gusturi...
O zi buna

:)

The mood is really excellent Chris!!
Expressive, moody, the pose is dramatic, very interesting PP work.
Great expression and off-centered compo.
I had a look at the workshop- maybe the picture could use levels or curves in photoshop to make it just a tad bit more clear/bright to see the full picture.

Hello Christian,
I like this experiment, and effect is good.
IMO, the photo seems a bit dark to me, little more gamma adjustmet should do it fine. TFS
