Blue-tailed Damselfly - Ischnura elegans

Sometimes when there is no macro-lens at hand the
18-250mm has to do the job. *g* not the best option,
but it seems to be ok if one tries hard enough.

I am not an expert on damsel-/dragonflies, so i hope
i have the ID right.

*******************

The Blue-tailed Damselfly, Ischnura elegans, is a
European damselfly.

Adult male Blue-tailed Damselflies have a head and
thorax patterned with blue and black. They have a
largely black abdomen with very narrow pale markings
where each segment joins the next. Segment eight
however is entirely pale blue.

Adult female Blue-tailed Damselflies come in a variety
of colour forms, including a pink form, a violet form
and a pale green form.

HI Thorsten,
Brilliant colours and sharpness and the contrast between the BG almost in BW against the fresh green and blue colour is really fantastic. If this is a crop I would suggest to position the dragonfly a little bit more towards the center because I feel it looks a bit lost up there. Otherwise perfect post and note. TFS Thomas

Good capture,well done.

Siehst du, auch ohne ein Macroobjektiv kann man gute Nahaufnahmen machen. Ist dir super gelungen.
Lieben Gruß Rose

Thorsten, wonderful unusual capture! I like the "qwerkiness" of it. The dragonfly is crystal clear and has a good composition - well done mark.
