Good morning peeps

Todays image was shot at the queue to the start of the Nurburgring. I was very fortunate in being positioned stood right on the corner at the start finish area and was able to capture vehicles before they set off and again as they came back. I have added another couple of shots to workshop to give you more of an idea of the setup at the start of the track.

For those that dont know this is the old F1 racing track situated to the north of the current track, it is one of the most beautiful driving roads in Europe and is used by BMW and other companies as a test track. In addition to that it is now a "Toll road" however .... I doubt that many people actually drive through that "Toll" barrier considering it just a toll road. The atmostphere was absolutely electric, a non stop stream of every type of car or motorbike Immaginable.. all wanting to get that buzz.

The start is made up of three lanes in this section. the lotus is sitting in the main entry car lane. Then there is a central lane for motorbikes and a third lane for cars.

Drivers purchase toll tickets for one or more laps. the charge is currently 70 euros for four laps. You place your ticket in the machine and the barrier lifts, there is then an area to pull into and await your frinds if you want to travel "Race" round in convoy. Once you pull round the cones and on towards the bridge the adrenalin is on and your foot is on full throttle as the most amazing drive begins.

As already mentioned I took a large number of images on this trip and the majority were here at the track but I will alternate each day with my postings for some variety.

I hope your having a good weekend. Please check out the workshops for another couple of shots from the start line.

Hope your all having a good weekend

TTFN regards Smurfie

Hi Smurfie,
Nice shot, great POV, I hope the Lotus stayed the right way up as it looks a nice fast beast.

Oh? Is this YOUR race car Helen?? Hmmmmm..... next time I'm in Europe, I'll challenge you to a race!..HAHAHA! Very nice shot, love it!

I really think this is a humorous picture indeed!
coz of the sign that says "30" hahahhahhhahaha
on a racetrack... YEAH RIGHT!!!

about the image... hmmm. I'm wondering if why you didn't use the flash here... the sky is very light and the back of the car in the shadows is very dark..... By using the flash you will have more details in the car and you can use a shorter shutterspeed, so that you'd have a bit more contrast (or color) in the sky......
I know it sounds really silly to use the flash on such a nice and sunny day, but it really works!!

:-) Cheers,
Anneke

Hello, Helen -
Perfect POV for this amazing car - shows many sexy lines and curves. Based on your note, I'd love to take a spin around this track sometime; sounds like a rush. Cheers -
Sandy
