[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo in a butterfly reservation in northern Germany. As the background of this picture was very distracting, I decided not to post it. But then I learned about layers. As my first trial (Geraniums on the window sill) turned out to be quiet nice, I started to work on this.
PP: On the background layer I desaturated the colours slightly and added more shadows. Then I turned down the lights and decreased the contrasts. In order to set emphasize on the butterfly I added a spotlight and increased the contrasts slightly to get better sharpness.
If you like it or not or if you have some advice, please let me know.
critiques and comments are as always appreciated.
yours, Heike

hi heike.
i love experimenting. it can really make a difference to an image.
you are getting there but you do have some problems. the only way to become better at pp is to practice, practice, practice.

i have done a ws to show you a little of what can be achieved.
all i have done is to increase the gamma and the contrast.this has made the image sharper.

it is good to see that you are improving. keep it going.
the best of luck.
Brian
