A happy hello to you all - it's a pretty weekend, we still have snow but it's melting quick now and I saw the first tiny heads of snowdrops looking out of the frozen snow ...

So today in the morning I thought what I could do using this frozen snow - perhaps for the last time in this winter.
Well - I put some of the snow and some water in a bowl together with a CD.
Using my Tammy 90 mm
together with a 1:7 Teleconverter,
3 Rings (Extension Tubes)
and the flash I got this result.
It's handhelt, I don't use a tripot because it takes such a long time to adjust it and the ice was floating a little in the water - no chance for longtime-exposure!
I also made a shot of the equipment and the object so you can see how I did it. - Have a look at the Workshop.

It's amazing to see the structure of the melting ice - this one here looks like a growing flower IMO ;-)

NOOOO PP-Work in this shot - the shot and the colours are original!!!

Thanks for looking and any words.
Enjoy your sunday ...

Well Sabine, I'm truly impressed by this one. A hand-held shot with a macro lens is a bit tricky, as the DoF is extremely shallow, let alone if you add no less than three extension tubes! (I use Kenko tubes). A very beautiful abstract painting, with very sharp shapes in it. I do like it, apart from the frame that is... drop the frame, print it out as large as possible, and put it on the wall, as I would do if this was my shot!
Also, thanks for showing your eqt. in the workshop section. A very useful picture to add to the note.
TFS.

Wauw, very interesting!
Well done, I like this idea!

Hello Sabine!
Fantastic composition, again!!!
Very beautiful colours and structure!
Excellent work!
Best regards!
Lili

Bonjour Sabine,

Very abstract but quite crative, I love the effect. Sharp despite the shallow DOF encontered at these magnification. Well exposed. Was it front lit with on camera flash? Dit you use polarizing filter? Looks like there is a white dot on top of your filter.

And please, stop smoking that stuff... it looks more a new nuclear geneticly modified virus.... ;o)

Great shot and TFS.

Hi Wishnu, A very creative and well executed shot!
I'm very interested in seeing the equipment you are useing as I have recently purchased the Tamron lens. It's a great lens! But I can see that I'm going to need to invest in a Teleconverter and extension tubes. TFS

Hallo Sabine,
