Leisure Reading about LAB color ?!?
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is for friday's theme "Leisure Reading".
The photographer is relaxing in his chair, playing around with his camera and trying to comprehend the vastness of what he was reading about in the books on the table: "The camera always catches it very different from the way the human visual system does".
Meaning that most of the time postprocessing is due.
For comparison the original as seen by the camera is in the workshop. To the raw variant of the original I applied some usual postprocessing with the goal of enhancing contrast and colors and sharpening it.
Some moves were in camera raw (higlight recovery and noise reduction) further in cs3 (channel blending in rgb color mode, curves and sharpening in lab color mode).
Your comments and critiques are welcome.

Olá Attila,
Very good experiment and interesting contribution for the Theme. Good reflection and PPW.
Best wishes,
Raimundo
Hello my friend,
The camera is the eye without the brains...I think this tells it all.
I think the results of pp are really great and you could not compare the final result with the original in no shape or form.
Relaxing in Lab color mode...I did that a lot but now I think it`s better to relax by taking photos.
About the chosen subject; I think the composition is a bit cluttered and the main subject is not underlined enough.
Some people say that the subject should be:
-brighter
-more colorful
-shaper
than the rest of the photo...
What I see here is that Dan`s book is quite darker and it competing for our attention without any hope to win, with the colorful glass.
What do you think,Atti?
You know, you should show the photo to your kids and ask them what is it about; you will be surprised by their answer...If the subject is clear, you`ll have the answer in one second:)

Nelu
This photo fits the theme very well Attila, I have to admit that the workshop version is rather dull in comparison. Fill-in flash lighting improved the shot a lot, low camera angle and sharp details are look excellent, good job.
