Hi Rose,
Wow that's great such a red headed woodpecker in the garden, I won't see this bird were I live. The picture appears to me as one which is cropped from a larger image, the background is quite noisy. Nonetheless the bird itself is fine, the details of his feathers are well shown and the contrast and brightness are fine too.

was für ein glück, so einen hübschen buntspecht hat man sicher nicht alle tage vorm fenster sitzen! :-)
schöne details und guter augenkontakt. war ja nett von ihm, dass er sich so toll hat photographieren lassen.

Hi Rose,

I love nature shots of this type. Spontaneous appearances are difficult to capture because we have little time to prepare and compose the shot. I see what Hans has pointed out, but I don't think it takes too much away from the photo.

We have a similar woodpecker that visits in the woods behind my house. Unfortunately (for me) he won't let me get close enough for a photo.

Hallo Rose,
bunte und grüne habe ich auch schon einige Male geehen. Leider sind diese wundwerxchönen Vögel extrem scheu und außer ein paar kleinen farbflecken hatte ich nichts auf dem Bild. Deine Aufnahme ist großartig. Der merkt überhaupt nicht was los ist und schaut direkt in die Linse. Klasse gemacht.
