Hi, this is the pier in Binz in Northern Germany. Binz is a sea resort situated on the island "Ruegen"(Baltic Sea). If you want to learn more about the place, click here

PP: First i straightened the horizon and cropped out part of the foreground. Cloned out a small boat and a ferry in the background. Then I increased contrast and darkness, turned into greyscale, then added a dualtone to it. Used the oil painting filter and then changed the distribution of light in order to get the reflections on the water.
Then I added a simple border.

(I added a ws to show the original)

I hope you like it,

Have a nice week ahead,
Heike

Bonjour Heike.
Très bel effet de désaturation et bon cadrage qui donne une impresion d’infini a cette image.
Une belle réussite obtenue grâce à un bon post-traitement.
Bonne journée.
Urs

Hello Heike,

Superb tones in the superb capture ! This is an articulated scene with a deep artistic sense. I like the symmetrical composition and the wonderful perspective. The placement of the object (especially lamppost on the right side of the foreground) and the postprocessing are also good. I really appreciate your fantastic shot !

Many thanks for the sharing and best regards,
Eungbong

Hi Heike,
You made a very effective PP work . The composition looks great and I like the perspective made by the pier and the rails . The people on the pier gives a good scale to the scene . As Eungbong, I also like the placement of the lamppost because create a kind of diversion and they fill a neutral space . Thank you for your instructive note .
Daniel

Hello Heike
Impressive pp work has indeed made this a great photo. The lights on the right balance the shot very well. Posting the ws gives us a great idea of how much work went into this.
Regards, Leslie

Hallo Heike,
das Original ist ja eher unspektakulär, aber ws du hier daraus gemacht hast ist schon großes Kino.Klasse. Danke fürs teilen.

Thomas

You turned the lemon into a lemonade - from a pretty dull picture managed to get this great lansdcape.

Hi Heike,
Superb sepia conversion! Looking at the original, I can say that you did really an artistic work on it!
I especially like the rendering of light not so evident in the original.
The contrast between darkness and light is subtlely done.
Great smoothness and dreamy mood! Bravo! Annie
