[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This autumn day was gray and dull. My flatmate and I were on a trip to Butjardingen. In Bremerhaven we took a ferry across the river Weser. And from this ferry we saw this lighthouse. It looked as if it has been there for ages (I know that it can be only years), I don't know if it is still in use or not - but I think so.
I loved the somehow dramatic sky and tried my luck standing on the ferry looking up at the lighthouse standing tall at the end of the pier.

During PP I changed the image to sepia (obviously) to bring out the sky a bit better and my feeling of nostalgia. I adjusted contrasts and brightness slightly and added some sharpness. Added frames and resized.

I hope you like it. Thanks for having a look. Have a nice week. Kindest regards, Britta

Hi Britta...I like the composition here but it needs some drama...I did a workshop where I used the adjustment brush to darken the background and lighten the lighthouse..I used the curves to bring out the range of black to white and then sharpened the shot....if you would like to review these techniques check out books by Scott Kelby...

Good luck.

Roger

Hi Britta,
gute Idee - wenn kein Licht vorhanden ist und die Farben fehlen - am besten ein SW Bild daraus machen.
Sieht wirklich wie eine historische Aufnahme aus. Gut gemacht - sehr netter Rahmen!
Gruß aus dem jetzt dunkelgrauen Süden,
Thomas
