Good Morning Everyone,

This is one of those shots that you look at and just HAVE to do pp on!

I took the shot in Koblenz, Germany, in a garden near to the river. I'm not sure what it is but looks like a plant that would need to be grown indoors in N.W. England!

I just loved the long, tenuous strands which rekindled memories of an octopus. They suggested reaching out, as if exploring, and needed to come through a hole.

With that in mind:
Created a duplicate frame.
I used the marque tool to make a central square.
I selected inverse.
Painted the border at 70% opacity.
Added a fine border in complementary colour.
Erased the paint over the tentacles.
Selected some leaves with the magic wand. (Individually)
Added flters at 60% opacity.
Signed and resized.

I hope you like my little creation!
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Wowwww Beverley,
what a nice colours and presentation.Very good PP work.Congratulations.Necla.

Hello Beverley! Fantastic octopus. Wonderful shot. Original frame. Very sophisticated effect. Good luck!

Interesting plant!!!!!!! Nice PP to get the 'legs' showing over the border. Personally I'm not a great fan of diffused borders but I've got to give you credit for exact PP - good job.

Cheers
David

Hi Bev,
Exceptional photograph of this very strange plant. I was taking photos of the same sort of plant a little while ago, trying to rack my brain for the name of them. I know it was called 'bleeding' something....Hmm, I'll have a think. Anyway, whatever it's called, you've done a fantastic job in both taking and presenting the photo. The frame really makes it burst through the screen and grab our attention. Nicely done.

TFS,
Scott.

Salam Bev'

From the thumnail I thought it is a realy Octopus!
Nice flower with vivid colors and good pp works specially the pods out of frame! the lighting control on red color under direct sunlight is very difficult
well done and regards

Alireza

Hi Bev :)

Ohh that is a real explosion of colors,,,but they ae too uch for me. I feel that an elegant framing (pure white or complete black) might have suited your composition in a better way but this is just my personal feeling. So please feel free to (dis)agree :)

thanks and regards,
Paras

It's a beautiful plant, but its hard to get it right on a photo. Because of the long legs, you need a "big" focus. I think that the photo is a little flat. I can't see depth in this "flower" and I know there is depth in there.. just because of the many and long legs... Do you understand what my point is??
I love the colours, I love the way you get these legs over the border! The border itself is not what I like, but that is very personal!! The colour of the border is well chosen.

Bom dia Bev,
That's a great PPW with a nice result.
Amazing post. Fine.
Have a good day,
Raimundo
Ps.: and thakns for the lesson on editing

Bonjour Beverley.
Une mise en page originale, mais peut-être un peu trop large a mon avis.
Cela n’enlève rien au charme de cette belle composition aux belles couleurs.
Un bon travail de présentation.

hi beverley

Hi Beverley

Yes, 'octopus' was the first thought that jumped into my head too. Good colour & saturation with superb pp workn & sharpness. I like the faded leafy backdrop. Tfs! Have a great weekend!

Hi Bev,

An interesting plant, with beautiful colors. I'm not a big fan of frames and borders, but what you've done here works well. Really superb, intricate pp work. TFS

Hello, Bev.

Now, this isn't an octopus at all: if anything, it's at least a dodecopus!

Still, with that minor reservation, I like this picture a lot. Good well-saturated colours and sharpness. I am very impressed by your processing too - something I could never achieve!

Best Wishes,

John.

I think it looks like a star fish dipped in glitter going to a fancy dress ball. Love your pp work and the frame makes the wacky colours jump out.

A bit hard on the eyes at 7.30 on a Sunday morning but well done, love it.

Hi Bev:
You have just won a Masters of PP-Framing Award:)

HI Bev
Very appropriate title for this plant. The pp is well done especially by having its tenacles out of the frame gives it depth.
Well done

Bonjour Beverley
Bien cordialement
Henri
