[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I read yesterday that whenever you have a photo that means something to you, you should post it even if you are not quite sure why. This is such a shot and it was the result of an extended experiment while moving round the Frankfurt Book Fair. I put the camera on the handrail of the people conveyor belts in the endless corridors, set the shutter to a full second and a small aperture plus reduced white balance. And then set the auto release to avoid movement. The purpose was to register the movement of the belt. The problem was that the handrail shook so much that all frames were pretty useless. Except that I liked this one with the almost frozen man and the ghostlike shadows of other people. And of course the lights and their reflections. I applied a lot of paint filters to get to the essence of the image I saw. Don't know if it worked. I will post the poor original as workshop.

I love the effects you employed. Great image, and the "classic" filter with the modernish compo is perfect. Well done, Per! And it worked very well for me, thanks,
Marcie

Bye bye photography, hello painting... I like your compo and its colors, you made a good PP with an amazing result. A special pic very attractive.
TFS,
Martine

I like your PP work, but for some reasons, I think I prefer the original. Your POV was well chosen, and the blurry characters on the left are kind of lost after the PP. Great urban shot!

Very nice effect, I like all the straight lines and the reflections of the lights on the floor.

I like it, very artistic. B

Hi Per,
Nice shot. I like both of your images. This one because it looks like a painting. And the original because of what you wrote in your note. I do like that one fellow on the right. There's something authoritive about him; the room you were in is so cold and formal, he seems to reflect that feeling. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd say the original. It's more rooted in reality but also the captured movement from the belt your on and the blur is so nice to my eyes.
Well done.
Richard

I usually don't like HPP images. They usually seem tacky and for no reason. I love whatever effect you used here. The colors kind of look splotched on one another, very artsy like I really like how much it looks like it is water colored. Would look great printed out and hung. Very corporate.

Bravo.

Great effects here Per, I like the original but this is quite an improvement very painterly. Terrific work.

It's a strange effect, but beautiful too, Per. The original in the ws isn't all that bad either, it sure has a mood to it. And hey, if you like it, it's ok. TFS.

love this one, Per!
don't know why but it really creates a fascinating mood.. kind of oil pait, 3d effect and impressionnism altogether.

excellent!
Marisa
