[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the old and abandoned wine factory of Arethousa, located at the south side of town of Chalkis.

The building with the impressive chimney is closed for at least 3 decades and the local authorities still waiting for the greek Ministry of Culture to make this place a culture museum and center, with big areas of green and place for children games. Still waiting...

The horizon is straight, the chimney is tilted to the left! :)

This is an almost-heavy pp version of the original photo that I posted at TrekEart a few days ago. I wanted this photo to look like an old card postal and I like it very much this way (I'm so a collector of old greek card postals)

PP infos:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Sepia tones
2) Curvers
3) Color balance
4) Brightness/contrast
5) Unsharp mask
6) Framming
Nice PP work, Μπάμπη. Could be an old postcard...
I think your government has other priorities, paying for the organisation of the Olympic Games this year. A pity. TFS.
Good composition...I think sepia tones make the photo impressive.
The sephia tone adds to the age of the building along with the grass growing between the concrete.
Absolutly fantastic environment here! Very very agreable to me.
Nice color choice.
Great building...... should be a great musuem! some day?
Great "industrial" experiment, Mpampis, a very nice shot !
U did it Mpampi, it looks like an old cardpostal as u want it. I like this place it looks like to has something mysterious and sad and u make us to feel that with ur photo.
Καταπληκτική δουλειά! Η μετατροπή του είνα ιδιαίτερα πετυχημένη! Αυτοί οι τόνοι του σέπια καταπληκτική! Λες και είναι 100 χρονών φωτογραφία! Καλή δουλειά!
Η δουλειά πού έκανες είναι πάρα πολύ καλή, είναι πράγματι σαν μιά παλιά καρτποστάλ. Ωραία σύνθεση και οι τόνοι της σέπια πολλοί καλοί.
Μπράβο,
Βασίλης
hi mpampis,
I liked the tones in this pic and the story as well.actually I couldn't understand the loss of details on the chimney.I like this kind of old buildings,what a pity they're abandoned.
