Delphi
City of ancient Greece, situated in a rocky valley north of the gulf of Corinth, on the southern slopes of Mount Parnassus, site of a famous oracle in the temple of Apollo. The site was supposed to be the centre of the Earth and was marked by a conical stone, the omphalos. Towards the end of the 6th century BC the Athenian family of the Alcmaeonidae helped to rebuild the temple. The oracle was interpreted by priests from the inspired utterances of the Pythian priestess until it was closed down by the Roman emperor Theodosius I AD 390.

A European Cultural Centre was built nearby 1966–67.

Few days ago,i was there. At Delfi museum exhibition one item was found incomplete. As you can see body and head are missing but people there did their best to show us the complete picture.

I was very impress by the way they managed to represent their findings.

Museum is filled with interesting things, and it takes many hours to see them all.

I wish a happy and creative week to all!

HI Kostas
It must have been fascinating to get the history and see what has been collected so far. Hopefully more will be found.
I am surprised that they let you photograph in the museum and you did a good job of showing us what they are recreating.

hi Kostas

A strange art piece of work but very interesting color tone. You captured this shot very nicely with the yellow tone and brightness level. Interesting to note your f/2.8 and high speed of 1/1000s.

Well presented.

Hello Kostas,
The missing head and body certainly confound one's interest and imagination of the early Greek period. Good lighting and with adequate sharpness. Best regards.
