House in Vlasti
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Vlasti, a historical village built on an altimeter of 1240m., comes into history in 15th century, when some people, sheep-breeders mostly, found their refuge there from Ottoman conquerors. In 1770s many refugees from Moschopolis (Voskopoje in southern Albania) fled there after the destruction of their once flourishing town. Vlasti also flourished in 18th, 19th and the first decades of 20th century through connections to Central Europe where some of its most prominent inhabitants were established.
Today few people live all the year around, but a lot spend their summer there. So, many old houses have been restored, like this.
Photo processed in Photoshop.
*Vlasti is in Kozani's prefecture, but since there is not a choice for it, I choose Ioannina instead of Kozani. |
