[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a church in the village of Griva, closed to the town of Goumenissa.

The church is dedicated to the Saint Raphael (in Greek Agios Rafail). It has the typical Byzantine architecture and it was erected with the money collected from donations.

It is still not finished yet, but the liturgy already started here. It is a beloved church for weddings and baptism in the wider area of Goumenissa and Kilkis.

In Macedonia (the region in Northern Greece) and also in other Greek regions, since a good decade there is a trend for retro-churches. Retro in the meaning of back to the Byzantine roots.

A good example for this retro-trend is this church here: Church in Triandafyllia . The church is old but the stone brick panels on it are relative new (10 years old).

I like those style a lot, it is very authentic and transfers the beauty of the past in our lifestyle.

Sorry, I am finished with my points for today but still I won't miss to write my comments on such a wonderful shot. The church looks amazingly beautiful against a wonderful sky you got in the picture. The contrast is great and the sharpness and POV are just ideal. Wonderful composition with great harmony of colors.
