[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Monemvasia occupies a steep, rocky islet connected to the Laconian coast by a bridge. The settlement was founded in the 6th century A.D. by the inhabitants of Laconia. A second settlement was later founded on a lower level, and gradually developed into a town of significant strategic importance. After a short domination of the Popes, the area was captured by the Venetians in 1464. In 1540 it was occupied by the Turks and its decline became more evident. In 1690 it was given over to the Venetians and in 1715 was recaptured by the Turks. It was the first among the fortified towns of the Peloponnese to be liberated by the Greeks in 1821.

I agree with Pierre about the frame, Βασίλη. It's a bit too much for me. Also, the reflection in the water is somewhat disturbing, maybe a polariser could have cleared that up a bit. What I do like is your composition, the way you show parts of both buildings. Haven't been in the Peloponisos yet, will ad it to my 'shopping' list ;o). TFS.

WOW Vassilis,
This is one sharp and beautiful birds eye view picture. The sun reflecting on the tiles and the dark blue water is very nice.
Regards,
Paul

Nice captured, very well composed, the texture and detail of the roofs very beautifully display. the green and the deep blue of the sea... just excellent shot Bassilis, TFS

I agree on all the comments given before.
What I wonder about is, whether you used a tripod or not.
I think, you must have, for it seems to be zoomed-in quite a bit.
So I wonder.
Great shot anyway!!
Greetings,
Joop.

Hi Mr Vassilis,
Is this shot from heaven?
Regards..

Hi Vassilis, great show of this settlement. I love the brown, orange and green topped off with the emerald sea. A very peaceful looking place with a tragic history. Thanks for sharing
Jim

I like your photo, especially the colours and your very informative Photographer's Note. May be better if you had included more of the sea (the texture of which is interesting). Overall, well done!
Thank you for the short but interesting tour to Monemvasia (complemented by your Monemvasia 2).

Very beautiful photo of the church and "Kelia" before it was changed into a hotel. The green grass gives a totally different feel from the "standard" dry summer look.
