Hello (again! ;o)),
Whereas I was almost convinced it was impossible to make a "decent" repost starting from the orginal photo, I now think I will have to change my opinion. I am really amazed by what you achieved here!
Your crop really IS effective, because now we have some points of interest in your photo: the hand and the cigarette are really "present" and other details that were insignificant in the larger version (like the shoes on the shore), become "present" as well and give the photo a certain atmosphere. A rather weird or surrealistic atmosphere, but why not?
All of a sudden, and thanks to your interventions, this photo version tells us a story. We do not exactly know which story, but that's no problem. The power of suggestion...
The frame and the general reddish tones add to that mysterious mood.
A creative and good repost!

i am amazed that you took the time to do this.
the original was, in my opinion, a poor snapshot but this is worse.
the pp work is terrible and i fail to see what Erik can see.
