Gate to Heaven

I am not a religions man but during my walks in that area I found so many small houses of God. That makes me realise that the people in this area must be very religious. And during the suppression of an other religion they become even more religious.

Thanks Ruud! Great shot! The word "religion" just means to "practice". I shoot photos "religiously" HA!

I believe that God is a "FEEL", not a "think". I believe the wars of religion are from people "thinking" too much....and not "feeling" the compassion for fellow human beings!
Much war is made in the name of religion.
God is in the still small voice that whispers inside. Feel Him....HIs voice is in the wind...

Hope you got even a more total view, to see whats it like up there.?

Hi Ruud,
Another beautiful composition in the contrary sense with that shown yesterday!

People need to materialize their search of absolute, they invent the religion. It is a good thing if it speaks about love and peace! Thank you for the sharing! Annie !

A very definite Greece feeling here with all the white. Nice peaceful atmosphere. I assume there is some symbolic meaning in the white cloth and flower display on the right.

This works well for me on all levels, both technically, and spiritually. The fitting title conveys what the picture is saying. What suprises me, since I had never been there, are the white decorations - I am used to black or purple from my country. White being the color of sorrow in some asian countries also.
Thoughtfully yours
Otto

Indeed they do, Ruud. Orthodoxism is more stringent than catholicism or protestantism, yet looser in other matters.
I think the flags are in rememherance of deceased persons; They do provide a lovely subject and you captured them excellently. Beautiful.

Hi Ruud,

Very nice photo! They use them in the funerals. The relatives bought them for the dead.
To tell you the truth I really don't know why they use them in funerals. A waste of money (IMO).
Very well captured and presented!
