The Mother

M is for the miracle of being.
O is for its origin in love.
T is for the tenderness of seeing.
H is for a home no wind can move.
E is for the ecstasy of living.
R is for the recklessness of giving.

I wrote in the description of the b/w, SEE HERE THE MOTHER,that I first took colour to put them at ease, well, here it is.
I knew it was a risk, there might not be a second chance, but this was the camera I was holding, the other in the back of the car...

I'd love to know what it is and why, that so often people prefer portraits in b/w.
Personally I like them both, but each for their own different qualities.
I was there, that adds an extra dimension, memories, emotions and excitement.

My sons are far away from me and will probably forget all about today, I know they love and respect me, it's NOT just today, but EVERY day is Mother's day...
I wish you ALL a very happy day and thanx for your visit, Magda, (*_*)

There is so much to read in this mother's expression. I feel she was prepared to reveal herself to you without the slightest sign of a 'mask'. Beautifully captured.

Beautiful Magda. Touching...

Salim.

Great one Magda ! Character in every line of her face. Nice note for MOM's day as well. TFS !

Excellent portrait to resume in one view... The consecration to be a mother. It show experience, sacrifice, devition... Often accept to be the last in favor of our childs.
Expressive a lot in the simplest way to show... A white bgd!
I enjoy a lot!

Beautiful portrait bearing all the marks of time, love, struggle, difficulties, but with a heart still capable of shedding a tear, which means that all the above has not turned a heart of flesh in a heart of stone.
Have a happy belated mothering sunday!

Thank you for this very sensitively made photo - a loving tribute to all mothers on Mothers' Day! It is great to see her smile. You have done well to encourage her. Well done!

Portraits of old people are always interesting. It would be desirable to see life of the concrete person in the image. You managed to transfer it. But, it seems to me, that without colour (which distracts) it will be better. Good work, similar photos very like.

Hi Magda

Excellent portrait, so natural with many details. I like the expression of tis old lady. Marvelous work.

Hi Magda,
Prachtig portret
Bij jou leg de lat altijd iets hoger dan normaal.
Portret top alleen de randjes kunnen beter?

Hoop jou / jullie zeker een keer te ontmoeten
