Facts about Bees (part 3 of 4)
Brain: A honeybee brain processes information it receives from the eyes, sensitive hairs all over the body, and other sense organs.
Salivary Gland: This organ produces saliva, which helps a bee moisten its food.
Aorta: This blood vessel helps pump blood throughout a honeybee's body.
Wing Muscles: Large wing muscles allow honeybees to fly fast and with great agility.
Air Sacs: Like our lungs, a honeybee's air sacs help circulate air throughout its body.
Abdominal Muscles: As these muscles move, they help a bee breathe by expanding and contracting the air sacs.
Dorsal Vessel: The main blood vessel of a honeybee's body, the dorsal vessel is a large tube open on both ends through which blood flows.
Rectum: The rectum stores a honeybee's waste until it can be expelled.
Poison Sac: When a honeybee stings, it pumps poison into its victim from this bulging sac.

Panos, where did you get all these info? Amazing macro -again- and great note! I especially like the bee's wings and the reflecting flash light, excellent capture!

Very good macro. I like the colors very much. I also find the DOF excellent. Compos can be improved. Less centered perhaps.
