The port of Aegina island in Greece.
The island of Aegina is located in the Saronic Gulf It is a ‘hop-in’ island, the trip taking only 35 minutes by flying dolphins and 70 minutes in the ferry from Piraeus, the main port Of Greece, and Athens, the Capital of the country.
The town of Aegina welcomes the visitor with its neoclassical houses.
Stroll along the narrow cobblestone streets to buy the famous pistachio nuts and local traditional products from little shops.
Visit the Fish market and the fruit selling boats. Have a ride in carriages carried by horses wearing brightly colored tassels.
The ruins of the post roman fortification, the two interesting museums are among the sightseeing in the town.
Aegina is an island with great history and of great, archaeological interest: The famous Temple of APHAEA, the Monastery of Agios Nektarios,The Old Mediaeval Town, The sanctuary of Ellanios Zeus, The sanctuary of the Temple of Apollo "of the Dolphins" etc.
All year round, many cultural and Art events and local festivals take place.
